Dalgona Coffee

AKA the Quarantine Fluffy Coffee

The Dalgona Coffee trend has taken over the internet. Perhaps because we all are staying home and the lines at Starbucks are ridiculous (honestly, if you wait in the 30+ car lines for an overpriced coffee, I'm judging you). The good news is, Dalgona is super simple to make and tasty! In fact, it was one of my mom's requests for her Mother's Day breakfast.

Dalgona is made by whipping equal proportions of instant coffee, sugar, and hot water. I've made the beverage with both Coconut sugar and Swerve, which is a sugar substitute. I favor using Swerve as it cuts out the sugar.


  • 1 tablespoon of Instant Coffee

  • 1 tablespoon of Sugar or Sugar Substitute

  • 1 tablespoon of hot water

  • Milk of Choice (I use Almond Milk)

  • Cinnamon (optional)


1. Combine the instant coffee, sugar/sugar substitute, cinnamon, and hot water

2. Whip the mixture using an electric mixer (NOTE: the first time I made this I mixed by hand and it took FOREVER) until the fluffy texture appears

3. Pour your milk into a cup over ice

4. Top the milk with the fluffy mixture

5. Stir and enjoy!
